Our client is an international mid-sized legal firm with offices in Sydney CBD and Melbourne CBD. They are currently looking for an Office Manager to manage the office services function and deliver a high quality professional service in accordance with the overall strategy of the firm.


  • Manage the Secretaries and Office Assistants in the Sydney & Melbourne offices
  • Monitor and plan team resources
  • Conduct staff appraisals
  • Maintain up to date records and adhere to the essential competencies and Service Level Agreements
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of all documentation and information
  • Review office services processes and procedures and suggest improvements which support the functionality of the Australia offices
  • Oversee document storage and destruction, reducing costs where possible by driving ‘paper lite’ project
  • Responsible for security, utilities, offsite document storage and general office upkeep
  • Day to day oversight of IT issues for users in the firm
  • Manage and oversee the building, professional indemnity, management liability,travel, crime, public liability and workers compensation insurances
  • Ensure firm and employees are compliant with New South Wales Law Society and Victorian Legal Service Board rules
  • Maintain the high standard of service offered to the firm’s existing clients and assist in creating and developing the professional reputation of the office and firm
  • Assist the HR manager in the drafting and implementing of policies and procedures for the Sydney and Melbourne office
  • Cover staff inductions, training, leave management and ad hoc queries in the absence of the HR Manager


  • Office Management experience, preferably within a law or accounting type practice
  • Previous experience in managing projects
  • High level of IT literacy
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • The ability to work on own initiative
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage change

This is a newly created position and is a fantastic to take ownership of the Office Management function.
