Job Description
Our client, the Dept of Defence is seeking an experienced Linux Engineer based in Adelaide to build, supporting and administering a variety of Linux systems on diverse Research classified networks.
Essential criteria
Edinburgh, South Australia or Fishermans Bend, Victoria based. Commencing Early August 2020 to 18th December 2020 with potential options to extend for a further 3 months.
Security Requirements:
Must be an Australian Citizen. Due to work environment, the client has requested that a current NV1 security clearance is required for this role.

Essential criteria
- Skills and Experience of Nominated Staff:
- Required technical skills and experience includes minimum of 3 years administering, managing and/or supporting the following:
- Linux Administration in an Enterprise Environment
- CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu
- Knowledge of a variety of virtualization and cloud technologies, setting up virtual environments using host and guest, and migrating from physical to virtual environments.
- Required technical skills and experience includes minimum of 3 years administering, managing and/or supporting the following:
- Technical Skills Mandatory:
- High level skills and experience in Linux scripting in at least one of: bash, perl, python.
- Strong skills in general Linux system administration of CentOS/RedHat.
- Strong web interface design skills interfacing to a backend Linux client-server environment.
- Technical Skills Desirable:
- Experience developing Ansible playbooks.
- Experience with Certificate/PKI systems (for NAC).
- Experience implementing Multi Factor Authentication on Linux.
- Linux Certification (of any kind)
