Up to 24 month contract based in Canberra.

Job details
Financial Data Analysts are responsible for the design, analysis and delivery of relevant, trusted and objective statistics and data-related insights.
They manage, coordinate and respond to the finance requests and organisational Directives at the Branch and Division level ensuring alignment between a Project Office and the wider organisational Program/Portfolio and Finance functions. 

Some duties and responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise that contribute to business unit outcomes.
• Have sound understanding of the impact of the work area on longer-term strategic, political or operational outcomes for the agency/program.
• Work independently or under limited guidance nominated supervisor.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive customer outcomes.
• Support programs with financial management and procurement activities including resource and budget planning.
• Track financial progress of projects by conducting monthly reviews of financial expenditure, budget reporting, forecasting analysis including accrual reporting.
• Create reports, modelling, and trend forecasting including financial reporting.
• Conduct statistical and financial modelling, including project accounting & cost estimation.
